Creepy orange salad.

This has probably been out forever and I am way behind but I think these are funny. They are weight watcher recipe cards from 1974.
"Um, I guess this is a salad best enjoyed at the house of that one scary lady down the street who never leaves the house and talks to her knicknacks.
I showed this card to a
friend who said, "What the hell's in that bowl-- bong water?!"
Is that why the ceramic animals are so drawn to it? Is it their magical pond?
Why have they gathered?
What do they want? "

I would like one of these please.

They have buttons at the bottom.

This came in the mail at work today

These are from a catalogue called 4imprint. They basically sell junk that you can put your company name on. It started out with normal stuff like coffee mugs and sweatshirts. Then, a balsa wood glider.

Chapstick?
These I actually think are adorable. And also weird. At the top of this page in the catalogue was the motto-" Branding is a zip!"

This came in the mail at work today.

My favorites are the cardboard box spitting out rags and the "economizer wipers."

Grandparents on Facebook

My Grandma Wendy is on facebook (that's her on the right, next to mi madre). My Grandma is pretty cool. This is what she lists as the music that she likes:

Dave Brubeck, Herb Albert, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Mathis, Temptations, Mamas & Papas, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Pointer Sisters, Rosemary Clooney, music from the 40's thru the 70's, then music got too loud and too mean.

Oh Grandma :)

Last night

I busted my ass last night. And not in the "I worked really hard and it paid off" kind of way. I fell down. I was leaving Catbirds and walking down the sidewalk carrying a tub full t-shirts. I lost my footing, my ankle slipped, and I fell to my knees. I did not drop the tub of t-shirts. I got up and walked to the car, loaded the shirts, and then checked out the damage. Not only did I skin my knee and put a gash in the side of my foot-my favorite pants now have a huge tear in the knee. Total bummer. And on top of all that, while cleaning the apartment yesterday, there was some question as to whether or not the vacuum was working, so I put my hand underneath to test it. It was working. It sucked my left index finger up and took some skin off. I'm sorry, body. Yesterday I was not good to you and I am feeling it today.

I guess one good part is that the last time I fell down like this was over a year ago on a Galveston pier after JBoone's wedding (at least it doesn't happen every week), and the result was this photo, so I think it was worth it. I am on the left...Emily N on the right busted her ass about five minutes before I did. It was not a good night for the skin on girls-named-Emily's knees.
