This is how I feel about this.

I think I hate Twitter. Hate is a strong word. Maybe I don't hate it, but I do think it's kind of stupid. Right now that's what I think. Sometimes I think it's cool. But, Zachary Doss you were right. It sucks when all of your friends on Twitter are Marketing/PR people because then they're just tweeting about what they want me to come to that night, or wanting me to "re-tweet" them. And then I realized...THAT'S WHAT BOOTOWN DOES. I would say that's when I started hating Twitter.

I would like one of these please.

And this one is really cute. It's too bad I don't wear white. And it's also too bad I don't have $75 to spend on a dress...

Work

One of the managing directors asked me to get him tickets to Billy Elliot this week. First of all, he couldn't remember the name of it and called it 'Billy Button.' So I tried to find where it was playing in town, and after twenty minutes of intense internet searchings I emailed him and asked him where it was playing. He replied-I will be in NYC. That would have been nice to know. I will never get those 20 minutes back.

I got these from my co-workers. Apparently it is "administrative professionals week."

ambidexterity

I am learning.

Work

This came in the mail at work today. One of the managing directors was named estate executor for a friend who was killed in a car accident a year or so ago and they had all of her mail forwarded to this address. She was very Catholic. I throw most of it away.

Work.

All of the receptionists are women. Excuse me. All of the office managers are women. We all get here at 8am and we all leave at 5pm. No one would get their mail, or send any mail, or have anything to eat, or read any papers or magazines, or be able to email anyone, or be able to refresh their fucking internet browsers, or have clean coffee cups, or fix things when they break, or make appointments. (Well, they probably could do these things on their own). A lot of the women are overweight too. Like they have been sitting at desks their whole life. And wearing the same clothes. And getting older. Or maybe they just started, when their kids grew up and moved out of the house. There is one girl who looks like she is younger than me and SUPER hip and there is one older woman who looks like she's had some work done and she is also SUPER hip. Like she should be on some 'real housewives' show. She might not be an office manager either...for all I know she's some kind of mogul. All I know is that we all get here at 8am, and the ratio of man to woman is like 1 to 30.

My boss just called. It's 11:24 am. I have been here for three and a half hours. He's stuck at the car dealership and won't be in until later. He usually doesn't get here until between 10:30 and noon anyways. He leaves around 3:30 or 4. To beat the traffic. He's at the car dealership right now. I think he's exchanging his car because the lease is up on his BMW.

My sis works for Disney on Ice

I had never been to a Disney on Ice show, and I really don't know if I'll go again (unless Am's tour comes in town again) but it was actually super fun. There were hordes of children and they were soooo excited.

My sister is inside Ursula in the picture.

Lions on ice skates!

Shoes

I'm on the hunt for some brown work shoes and I really like these.

Work

One of the managing directors in the office I work for has a pretty sweet job. He reads articles in magazines. He puts post-it notes on the magazines with instructions about which articles he wants copied and puts the magazines in his outbox. He will not tell me he has done this. I have to check religiously. Usually I forget and when I walk by and see stuff sitting in his outbox I kick myself because he can't complete the next part of his job until I copy these articles. So I copy them. Then I put them on the left bottom-most corner of his desk, not stapled. Sometimes he wants the magazine back (which he will indicate on the aforementioned post-it note) but most of the time I take the magazine and replace last weeks issue on one of two tables in the sitting area. Next he will write on each copied article what he wants done with it. Sometimes it should be filed. Sometimes it should get mailed to someone or given to someone else in the office. So when I happen to walk by again and see these articles in his outbox, again I take them and distribute them. I put them in envelopes and send them to whomever he has noted. If it is to be delivered to someone in the office, I walk the fifteen steps to the room next door and give it to them. Sometimes this managing director will go to the restroom or even leave for the day, walk right past my desk, and I will walk to the back of the office to check on something, and sure enough, there is something in his inbox he could very easily have dropped off on his way out. Sometimes this bothers me. And then I remember that I'm getting paid and I go order the groceries.

Lemon Cake mmmm

If the Lemon Cake Cafe was not located in the Houston Heights Tower (aka old folks home) I would probably eat there. I love lemon cake.

Unique and Hard to Find

This catalogue came in the mail at work today. It made me want to order a bunch of little bottles in bulk and then give them to people.
